Tiny robot made to crawl through your veins

blood-robot

With this invention by Scientists from Israel’s Technion university, the doctors would no longer have to cut open a patients body to cure internal injuries, diseases like cancer or artillery blockages.

The invention is a tiny one millimeter robot that is designed to crawl through the veins of a patients body to clear any blockages or deliver targeted medicines. The bot running on a Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) does not use any electrical energy and is guided through a magnetic field outside the patients body. The magnetic field can not only guide the bot but also propel it upto 9mm/sec. No battery or power supply ensures that the patients internal body parts would not be receiving any electric shocks due to any malfunctioning of the robot. Also, it ensures continuous functioning with no low battery/power failure problems.

The robot can also be parked inside the patients body. Its tiny arms can grab on to the vessel walls and is capable of withstanding high blood pressure.

Its inventors are now trying to take it a step further with the installment of few tools and a tiny camera on the robot. The creepy invention is definitely better than the cuts and stitches one has to go through in an operation.
