Are you good enough with texting that you can convenience a recruiter to consider you for a job opportunity? If your answer is yes, then a mobile phone company Teimlo is giving you an opportunity to flaunt your texting skills and even get a job for it.
The company is inviting job applications via SMS which means you just have 160 characters to make an impression and be invited for a screening.
“We’re hiring by text,” says an announcement on the company’s website. “”If you are qualified, sassy, good with words, dynamite at events, Adobe compatible, having working knowledge of mobile and social mobile, and are a determined multi-tasker and networker we want to hear from you.”
“As the job will be working with mobile content, I thought why not get people to apply in the medium they will be working in.” says Phil Terrett, founder and chief executive of Teimlo, “If the text says: “Dear sir, i would like to apply for the position of…” they are going to run out of space. They have to be a lot more savvy to fit something in that’s going to make a genuine impression.”
The company is advertising the position via Twitter and various other trade magazines. The successful candidate may have to relocate to Cardiff.
