Samsung is banking big on its low cost touch screen offerings. The Star series had 3 versions 2G/ 3G and WiFi and the same has done extremely well with just a single version of the Star selling over 10 million units in 6 months. With the warm reception the Corby S3653 / 3650 has received; Samsung has released a new 3G variant for the Korean market with a larger touchscreen (3.0″ compared to 2.8″), more more memory and additional features such as DMB TV along with Haptic UI.
While we certainly ain’t in any hurry to see a 3G version of the Corby in India (thanks to the delayed and controversial wireless spectrum issue), we really hope the QWERTY version of the same i.e. Corby Mate hits the shelves soon. For the moment we have the new Corby branded bluetooth headsets from Samsung to cheer for
Note: Unwired view has listed three model nos for the new Corby (SCH-W900 / SPH-W9000 / SPH-W9050). Not sure what the 3 differnet variants of this 3G model are. Shall update as we have more details.
