Motorola and RIM have introduced their best smartphones in the Indian market. While Motorola Milestone (aka Droid) would be the first Android 2.0 handset for the country, BlackBerry Storm 2 would be the second iteration of BlackBerry Storm which was launched in India almost two years back. Here is a quick look at the specification and pricing of the two.
Motorola (Droid) Milestone in India
Motorola Milestone is the GSM version of Motorola Droid. The phone would be launched in India with Android OS 2.0. The phone is still waiting for an upgrade to Android 2.1 in the US, which has been delayed due to some technical issues. Its specifications are -
- 5 MP auto focus camera with dual LED flash
- Android OS 2.0
- micro SD support upto 32GB
- 256 MB of RAM
- 600 MHz processor
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
- GPRS
- QWERTY slider form factor
- DVD quality 24 fps video recorder
- microUSB port
- 3.5 mm audio jack
The Motorola Milestone is now available in India for a price of 34,000 INR. Given the absence of iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre and Nexus One from India, the Droid will certainly be the best smartphone out there (provided it hits the market before the 3GS)!
