T-mobile announced that they will be launching a WiFi calling service for Blackberry users. The service would be limited to customers utilizing the corporate calling plans.
Users will be able to make calls through the WiFi network while on their Blackberrys when they are within the company premises. When the user leaves the company campus, the call would automatically switch over to T-Mobile’s network. One advantage of this offering is that this service would work on regular WiFi routers without requiring any additional special equipment to be installed.
T-Mobile will be charging a flat monthly fee in addition to the regular cellular rates for this new corporate offering. The new monthly plan or subscription details, as well as the launch date, has yet to be announced by T-Mobile USA.
