Seeing the current set of biker accessories for the iPhone out there, I often thought that we should have something more usable. Lo and behold I come across the Arider (bicycle) navigation system (currently just an experiment by Ubiquitous Entertainment in Tokyo). This utilizes the 3GS GPS and Digital compass with the help of a retractable HMD (head-mounted display) to become your ultimate gadget buddy on a biking trip. The setup also makes it possible to make handsfree calls and connect to Twitter. Now how cool is that! Video of the Arider demo after the jump
Ps: If this experiment ever makes it to the mass production stage, we hope to have a better resting place for the iPhone than the antenna-like feel on my head. Although placing the handheld like that is necessary for the map adjustment aspect compass to work correctly, so its a tough call..
