Creative has launched a new touchscreen MP3 player for the Indian market. Called the Zen X-Fi2, the PMP boasts of a decent feature set along with some exclusive add-on technologies.
The Zen X-Fi2 features a 3” TFT touch screen and supports both audio and video playback. Along with the EP-630 in-ear earphones, it also features built-in speakers. The earphones come in three different sizes to match the ear size of the user. The player also features an FM radio along with features such as a clock, alarm, and calendar.
The audio codecs supported include MP3, WMA, AAC and FLAC and the video formats include DivX and MPEG4 movies. It also supports photo viewing.
Some of the add-on exclusive includes the X-Fi Crystalizer, which is an intelligent one-touch recovery tool for lost data during compression. This technology is what supports the video and FM radio playback. Also included is the X-Fi Expand technology, which gives the most acoustically natural sound staging in headphone audio.
The player’s memory is expandable through a microSD card slot. It also has AV-Out port (A/V cable not included) to enjoy the stored music, movies and picture on the TV screen.
Creative has launched three variants of this player. The 8GB model willl cost INR 7000, 16GB model for INR 9,500 and 32GB model for INR 12,000. This player could be an ideal iPod Touch competitor, but only for those users who are not into Apple applications.
