Sony Ericsson launches Jalou and limited edition D&G Jalou

Sony Ericsson launched the Jalou, a fashion phone for the fashion conscious. The phone is a sleek clamshell model that could easily slip into tight pants. SE also announced a Dolce&Gabbana edition of the phone.

But first, the SE Jalou -

The phone is more of a fashion accessory so not too much to expect on the high tech features. Still, the phone is loaded with some decent features. Its a 2″ TFT screen with a resolution of 240×320 QVGA. The phone has another screen which is active when the flap is closed which is a monochrome LCD. Other features include a 3.2 Mp camera, 3G, music player, Bluetooth, FM radio and support for social networks and YouTube. The phone has a built-in memory of 100Mb which is expandable using a microSD card. In US, the phone would be launched with a built-in GPS.

For the fashion side of it, the phone has been given looks of a gem and the design looks awesome. For the ones who love looking at themselves too often, the phone features a one touch mirror which is kinda cool. Isn’t it girls? The phone also has WalkMate to count the number of steps you take in a day using the accelerometer. The fashion interface updates itself automatically to the zodiac signs and latest fashion events across the world. The phone would be available in three colors – Deep Amethyst, Aquamarine Blue and Onyx Black.

So its not Motorola who brings you a D&G version, its SE this time! The D&G edition of Jalou is in support from Dolce & Gabbana. Apart from the features of Jalou discussed here, this one would be a 24 carat gold plated limited edition phone. The phone would be available in a sparkling rose color. The phone comes with an exclusive D&G carry case and some exclusive features. Photography and video from D&G autumn/winter 2010 collection would be included in this one. Also, the phone would be automatically updated about the fashion blog of D&G. Also there would be loads of D&G wallpapers and screensavers.

Overall, Jalou is trendy and D&G Jalou is even more trendy. No news on pricing.
