In what Sanyo is claiming to be the first, they’ve announced the soon-to-be-released PLC-WXU700 LCD projector with 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity. This will allow you to turn it into a network projector from a Windows Vista machine streaming video in widescreen at 1280×800 resolution. Not only that but it’s got a 500:1 contrast ratio, weighs just 8lbs, sports a USB drive for images and video media, and has got a brightness of 3,800 lumens.
This new toy can stream several video formats including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and WMV formats. As an added bonus, it’s got advanced streaming capabilities allowing you to start viewing your videos before they’re fully loaded over to the projector. They also gave some love to the wired world, giving you HDMI, VGA, and S-Video in, as well as a VGA out to show the video on a secondary screen. Expect this bad boy in June for $2,995.
