Acer has a unique approach to Android netbooks. Though they have revealed their plans for a Android based netbook, it seems they won’t leave out Windows that easy. Acer’s Android netbook that has been confirmed by the company sometime back, would dualboot Windows XP and Android OS. This sounds a very smart move to me and something that will allow Acer to maintain its lead in the Netbook segment.
Android is expected to be a light and quick OS with no extreme features (FireFox has been spied on the same though), this would serve all your Internet needs at great speed. But then many netbook still have those notebook dreams to fulfill. Android certainly can’t do all that WinXP can, and a $20 extra for a WinXP netbook edition won’t hurt Acer much. Android+WinXP is certainly the best way out IMO, until the Android OS matures a little more to compete as a fulfledged PC OS (if that is what they wan’t to ultimately make out of it).
