Yes, there is no more twist in the tale to the headline. Intex has launched a triple SIM phone in India, named IN 5030. As a part of my first post on OnlyGizmos, I had discussed what would happen If Nokia launched dual SIM phones (a rumor back then). But this thing is totally blowing my mind off.
The phone has some features that are common with most Indian budget phones while adding some astonishing new features. Yes! You read it right, the triple SIM thing is real and the reason the features feel astonishing is its price.
Specs of IN 5030:
- 2 GSM 900/1800 + 1 CDMA800
- Display:2.0? TFT & 65K Colors
- GPRS/WAP
- Talk Time:Up to 4 Hrs
- Audio Player (with Audio Equalizer)
- 1.3 MP Camera
- Video Player (with Video Recorder)
- FM Radio, FM Recording and FM Scheduler
- Memory Expandable to 4GB (with MicroSD)
- Bluetooth with A2DP
- Mobile Tracker (in case you lose your cellphone to goons)
- Auto Call Record
- Dimensions: 111×48×14.8mm
- Weight is 105 gms
- Price : Around Rs. 4700 /- (just above $102 USD)
Yes, I agree the battery will last only 4 hours (less than average), but they had to compromise something to keep the price in reach of Indian middle class. Now, they only need to market it well and India’s middle class families (esp. in rural/semi-urban areas) will accept it both arms open (trust me!).
