Even though the market is yet to see systems with USB 3.0 capabilities, Seagate has launched Black Armor PS 110 – a 2.5″ 500 GB portable hard drive with USB 3.0 at CES yesterday, a first in the market. This means now you can transfer data upto 3 times faster than the current USB 2.0. For example, a 25GB HD movie takes just 4 minutes instead of usual 14 mins on USB 2.0.
The BlackArmor PS110 is an on-the-go 2.5″ drive with a 7200RPM spindle speed in a single matte black color. For compatibility with desktops and notebooks, the bundle ships a PCI Express USB 3.0 card – a PC Adapter card for notebooks. Available immediately for $179.99.
